Alicia Vikander Launches Production Company

Alicia's star is very much on an upward trajectory, thanks to her recent Oscar win, status as a blossoming fashion icon and recent news she's landed a series of plum roles recently. Not content with that, Alicia has added a new string to her bow that will afford her enormous creative control and the opportunity to choose projects and film makers she's passionate about. That's right Alicia and her London based agent Charles Collier have launched their own production company - Vikarious productions.

The production company's first title Euphoria, a production with Sweden's B-Reel Films, will begin shooting in the German Alps this summer. It will be the English directorial debut of Swedish director Lisa Langseth who worked with Alicia on the acclaimed movies Pure and Hotell.

Alice said:

"Euphoria is Lisa's third film as writer and director. I have worked with her on each of them, and I jumped at the chance to do so again."

She added: It’s a uniquely European approach, enabling me to work with a great Swedish team alongside my colleagues in London. It is a profound story about the journey of two estranged sisters, full of suffering but also full of joy, and squaring up to very important subject matter. It also has compelling female voices and is packed to the rafters with female talent both sides of the camera."

The movie will see Alicia team up with the incredible Eva Green, best known for her sterling turn as Vesper Lyn in Casino Royale. The duo will be sisters travelling to a mysterious locations. It promises to be a script full of conflict, intrigue and strong emotional performances.
